Space Fantasy

A 2D JRPG about a cadet who returns to the academy three years after the night he lost his best friend — and a rift between worlds that won't stay closed.

JRPG Turn-based 2D

The pitch

Three years ago, the night went wrong.

In the slums beneath the corporate towers of Aether, two fourteen-year-olds followed the wrong strangers underground — into a hidden lab, a warped crystal core, and a machine built to open a door to another world. Kael and his best friend Rayne broke it. In the chase that followed, Kael watched Rayne's ship burst into blue fire.

Three years later, Kael is back at Celestia Academy with one plan: keep his head down, keep his distance, and graduate. The plan lasts about a day — until he's paired with Dash, a loud, warm roommate who won't stay on the other side of the walls Kael has built.

"The signal calls. The rift hungers. And you... you are the key to what comes next. Or what ends."

A star system coming apart

Monsters across the system are turning sick and twisted, and someone seems to be setting them loose on purpose. From the jungle caves of Verdant to the mining city of Nexus, Kael's squad of academy cadets is sent to find out why — while an ancient device that knows Kael's name warns that something far worse is on its way.

What you'll be doing

Active-time battles

Every fighter's gauge fills by speed. Play to elemental weaknesses, ride out status effects, and line up co-op techs like Kael and Dash's Plasma Rush.

Build bonds

Spend free time with the squad — Dash, Vex, Echo, Cassey and more — in bond scenes that grow with the story.

Choices that branch

What you say changes what you see. Some scenes split, and a different answer leads to a different night.

Cross the system

Fly between planets, walk the academy halls, and explore worlds from jungle caves to mining towns.

Where it's at

Space Fantasy is a working title and an early proof of concept, made by one developer at Skyrocket Inc. The story is written through Act 12 and is out with readers for feedback; art, music and gameplay are still in progress. It's being made in English and Thai.
